Wandering Sunrise remembers Equestria as it once was: a land of harmony, broken by strife. She was sealed in a Stable-Tec stasis pod the day the Megaspells hit... and she wakes up in a pool of water, surrounded by strangers. She doesn't remember why she's there, and her Stable-Tec captors are nowhere to be found. Her band of misfit companions break out into an Equestria far different from the one Sunrise remembers - a wasteland that promises danger and death for the unwitting. Sunrise must learn to survive and overcome the challenges of the wasteland with the help of her friends, and unlock the mystery of her past experiences with the most dangerous company in the Wasteland: Stable-Tec.
Just over two centuries ago, the climax of the Great War unleashed the terrible potential of pony kind, bringing forth the ruination of all. Balefire scorched the land of Equestria, and in one fiery instant the bones and hopes of a people mixed with ash and radiation of the newly created wasteland. A calmness swept the land.
In the years following the Battle of the Hoof, the New Lunar Commonwealth grew and tried to thrive. The Followers of the Apocalypse joined them in trying to make the world a better place. Threnody, a young pegasus heartmender, works hard to heal the hearts and minds of ponies who went through the terrible trials of the Battle of the Hoof.
The wasteland is a living hell...but it is a hell of a place to live. There is more to find than you could ever imagine. It is a frontier filled with infinite possibilities. Join Tumbleweed, a swashbuckling tribal merchant of the Gloryroad Company and the mysterious, gun slinging Calypto, as they walk the untamable Interprovincial Road 95, trailblazing the path for new trade routes. All the while, they find themselves irreversibly entangled in the events surrounding powerful magical artifacts that up heave the balance of power within the wasteland.
The Continent of Sall'han, half a world away. In Sall'han the skies are blue and clear, and sunlight strikes with unequine intensity. This place was spared the holocaust of the bombs, and it's now a place where civilization is rebuilding, quickly. Sall'han is isolated by an ocean, and within, a sea of sand, a wasteland even before the dark skies. For now, these disparate civilizations are separated by sand. This will not last. When these black spots on a very large map become filled, what will occur? What are the odd transmissions coming from a place unassailable?
In the months following the Day of Sunshine and Rainbows, a group of allies who backed the Stable Dweller made themselves known throughout the Wasteland, as they set about the difficult task of creating a brighter future for Equestria. Meanwhile, a born wastelander named Roulette, still rocked by the havoc of the events of Operation Cauterize, must come to terms with the bitter realities of what happened that day. She remembers the days before the Sun, and contemplates her life in a now changing Wasteland. For a mare who lost everything, she can only hope to at long last make something of herself and be like the hero she once admired in her foalhood.
Equestria's a big place. Big enough for history to forget about the little wars that raged across every mile of the wasteland. Wedged between New Appleloosa and Fillydelphia, Pinewood Valley is always drenched in bandit blood as gangs vie for territory, wealth, and power. One bandit, a zebra named Phisa, has just been betrayed for the last time. She was close to the top, only for everything to come crashing down in a heartbeat. On the run and out for revenge, she must assemble her own rag-tag group of outcasts to fight back against her old allies and claim her place as the toughest, most feared bandit in the Pinewood.
On his journey to become a legendary wasteland trader, Backlash and his best friend Skyline journey around Equestria in an attempt to solve a problem that has existed from before the Great War even started. But as a shy young Steel ranger acolyte and rough and tumble Griffin join their adventures, the whole of the wasteland seemingly erupts into chaos as the politics and power players of the time come into their own. But one thing is for sure, not everypony is who, or what they seem to be at first glance.
Fallout: Equestria spawned many other fan-made works, the following stories are just a sample. Some links will take you to EQD, where the original first appeared. Later side stories would get their own EQD page. After the amount of newly created fictions grew, stories started to pop up at fimfiction.net, sometimes utilizing google docs as hub pages.
