These are basic formatting guidelines for articles of certain types on the Fallout: Equestria wiki. Please follow these guidelines as much as you can, unless there is significant need for deviation.

Guidelines for Articles

All Articles

When creating a new article about content existing in a Fallout: Equestria side story, but not the main canon, please include the name of the side story between parentheses in the title.

E.g.: "Blackjack (Project Horizons)"

Stories

These are the formatting guidelines for writing an article on a story.

Stories
  • (Lead Section) - Summarize the story's origins, history, and critical reception. (NO HEADER)
  • (Side Story Title) - Index of links to the places where the story can be experienced.
  • Read - Links to where you can read the story in novel format (if applicable).
  • Listen - Links to where you can hear audiobooks of the story (if applicable).
  • Watch - Links to where you can watch motion media interpretations of the story (if applicable).
  • Plot
  • Setting - Describe the world in which the story exists. Side-stories need only describe details relevant to the immediate setting instead of the base setting for Fallout: Equestria.
  • Story - Summarize the premise of the story and its characters. Create a Template:Main link to the list of characters.
  • Summary - Summarize all of the events that occur in the story.
  • Traits
    • Perspective - Describe the perspective in which the story is told.
    • Structure - Describe the manner in which the story is organized.
  • Development
    • History - Describe the history of the fan-fiction's development and major milestones.
    • Inspiration - Describe the outside inspirations from which the series draws.
  • Reception - Describe the critical reception that the story has received, and its cultural impact on the community.

Characters

These are the formatting guidelines for writing a character article.

Characters
  • (Lead Section) - Summarize the character (NO HEADER; use SPOILER TAGS)
  • History
  • Pre-War - Describe their history prior to the Great War (pre-war characters only).
  • During the War - Describe their history during the Great War (pre-war characters only).
  • Post-War or Background - Describe their history after the Last Day (Use "Post-War" for pre-war characters and "Background" for post-war characters; hybrid pre-war/post-war characters should use "Post-War").
  • Background - Describe their history prior to the story they appear in (non-pre-war characters only).
  • Modern Day - Describe their actions throughout the course of the story.
  • Traits
  • Appearance - Describe what they look like
  • Personality - Describe how they act.
  • Skills - Describe their talents.
  • Equipment - Describe their usual equipment. If it changes throughout the story, be sure to indicate these changes in future paragraphs.
  • Behind the Scenes - Non-canon real-world information about the character; inspirations, styles of writing, etc.

Species

Species are sentient, free-willed, self-aware creatures, such as ponies, zebras, and hellhounds. These are the formatting guidelines for writing an article on a species.

  • Modern Day - Describe its history throughout the course of the story.

  • Biology - Describe its physical characteristics.
  • Behavior - Describe common personality traits.
  • Culture - Describe the species' culture on a whole.
  • Technology - Describe its technological prowess.
  • Behind the Scenes - Non-canonical information regarding the species.

Factions

These are the formatting guidelines for writing a faction article.

Factions
  • (Lead Section) - Summarize the faction (NO HEADER; use SPOILER TAGS).
  • History
  • Pre-War - Describe its history prior to the Great War (pre-war factions only).
  • During the War - Describe its history during the Great War (pre-war factions only).
  • Post-War or Background - Describe its history after the Last Day (Use "Post-War" for pre-war factions and "Background" for post-war factions; hybrid pre-war/post-war factions should use "Post-War").
  • Modern Day - Describe its activities throughout the course of the story.
  • Traits
  • Culture - Describe the faction's behaviors, traditions, and purpose.
  • Technology - Describe the faction's degree of technological prowess.
  • Command Structure - Describe the faction's chain of command, if applicable.
  • Divisions - Describe how the faction is sub-divided, if applicable.
  • (Division Name) - Describe a division's short history and purpose.
  • Notable Members - List all of the members that belong to a faction's division.
  • Behind the Scenes - Non-canon real-world information about the character; inspirations, styles of writing, etc.

Creatures

Creatures are non-sentient living organisms, such as radscorpions, radigators, and paradores. These are the formatting guidelines for writing a creature article.

  • During the War - Describe its history during the Great War (pre-war creatures only).
